Wedding COllection Photoshoot

The Flora collection began with a stroke of luck. I started collecting small scraps of floral embroidery from local interior shops, pieces that were considered too small to sell and were headed for the bin. I saw a chance to give these leftovers a second life, reforming them and using lost-wax casting to turn the delicate thread into jewellery.

As I was working on these pieces, a close friend and I decided to bring our two practices together. She is a florist who grows her own flowers, tending to them from seed to harvest. We wanted to see how her home-grown blooms, both fresh and dried, would look alongside my work.

We settled on a wedding theme inspired by the swan. Although I worked with floral-embroidery I formed the fabric to mimic the forms and wings of a swan, either wrapped around the finger or as wings hanging from swans heads I had sculptured from soft wax and cast to silver. Working with a quiet palette of white (swan) , blue, orange (beak), and pink, we explored how the "permanent" fabric of my jewellery sat against the life of her flowers. I eventually turned the result into a small photo book to keep a record of what we made. It was a simple, honest way to celebrate our friendship and the things we both love to create.
